The theory of quantum electrodynamics describes Nature as absurd from the point of view of common sense. Praise for Princeton's original edition: "Feynman simply cannot help being original. So I hope you accept Nature as She is — absurd. One book in particular, a small book I had somehow never heard of, was Richard Feynmann's QED: The Strange Theory of Light and Matter. QED: The Strange Theory of Light and Matter by Richard Feynman. He wrote a book called QED: The Strange Theory Of Light And Matter, and all of this information (& more) is in there. Besides the Feynman Lectures, my all time favorites for physics are Feynman's The Character Of Physical Law and QED: The Strange Theory of Light and Matter. It's so weird, and I can't do it justice when I attempt to describe it in emotional terms. In that regard, portions of that book seemed very much in the spirit of what is now my hands-down favorite popularization of science of any discipline, namely “QED: The Strange Theory of Light and Matter”. And it agrees fully with experiment.
